PETER HAMMILL in Piacenza (ITALY) : lecture and concert
Conservatorio G. Nicolini - January 18th 2014

Peter Hammill will meet the students of the local Conservatory (but the lecture is open to all musicians and music lovers) at 6 pm for a lecture on the music writing techniques and at 9 pm will play a short live set in the Conservatory's lobby.

This year, the Open Day that marks the opening of the Conservatory G. Nicolini academic year is again arranged by the associazione 900 and his "Musiche Nuove a Piacenza" Festival. After the great success of last year's performance by renowed jazz piano player Keith Tippett, this year the opening ceremony will be held by progressive rock living legend Peter Hammill. Both as a solo artist and as leader of the glorious band Van der Graaf Generator, Hammill gave birth to some of the most poetic and heartfelt compositions in the whole rock music history.

Peter Hammill will meet the students of the local Conservatory (but the lecture is open to all musicians and music lovers) at 6 pm for a lecture on the music writing techniques and at 9 pm will play a short live set (free entry) in the Conservatory's lobby.
